People, Places and Things
My first experience with Printmaking was during a class on Illustration. At the time, I was between colleges and desperately needed to get back into a studio space. Starting with Monoprinting, I slowly developed a passion for printmaking in all its forms.

The original subject matter for my prints were abstract landscapes, places I had only gone to in my imagination. As I got more comfortable in the medium, I started to incorporate portraiture into my Woodcut and Monoprint pieces. Self Portraiture has been the ongoing theme through most of my works.

When I moved onto Intaglio, I decided to move out of my comfort zone and focus more on the conceptual as opposed to the tangible. I explored the deepest recesses of my nightmares and the differences between the sexes.

After returning home from Italy, I decided to transform some of my sketches and watercolor piece into a series of Silkscreen prints. At the inception of this undertaking was a deep seated loneliness that was itching to break free. So the work went from portraying the beauty I saw in Italy to portraying the people I did and did not get to meet in various emotive stages.
